i believe this is what the kids these days would call "booking it"

i'm officially back in baltimore. but not before i had the chance to send my tiny house into a messy chaos and paint my room. impromptu. hgtv never tells you that it's actually hard work. and impossible to finish in a day. or two. or three. (try like a week.) not to mention i was probably as inefficient about it as possible and left (almost) all the furniture in the room. we'll see if i can even recognize it in a few weeks under it's lovely shades of butterscotch and lemon ice. all i know is it sure beats the sterile white dingy walls of the commons. i'll give aesthetics that much credit.

being back home

there are a few things that being back home is good for...

seeing the house with a new eye
and suddenly finding cool compositions in mundane places.
watching south park with young kip.
staying up late.
sleeping in.
drinking as many cups of coffee as i want in the morning.
actually being able to watch the daily show on tv.
going to ben's baseball games.
reading a lot.
driving again.
working. if i feel like it...
having absolutely no pressure to make art.
but still getting the urge to do it anyway.

almost home...

-a relaxing thanksgiving day. (don't let me do any homework! seriously.)
-momsie's birthday. yay!
-shopping on black friday. (oops. i mean... buy nothing day!)
-oc marathon with the pops. (he's still waiting to find out if lindsay is caleb's illegitimate love child.)
-getting the last piece of glass removed from my foot by my own doctor.
-p.f chang's with geoff, dahling.
-starbucks 57 times with jackie. (don't worry... when it comes to coffee our time management skills are top notch.)
-catching up on reading.
-panera with the ship kids.
-letting the inspiration come to me for final projects.

i miss you boys!

my mom emailed me last week with pictures of the boys and some special seats. just look at my dad's face. a smile that big... he's been wanting seats from tiger stadium for awhile now.

i wouldn't have thought i would miss those crazy boys at all. but today when my computer wouldn't turn on at all and i really could have used some tech assistance, and last week when young kip called me on his private line and his laugh sounded just like dad's, and when i get emails like this giving me updates on what is happening at home... it's hard not to.
